Video

I posted a cute video of Niobe. Okay, it's not really that cute, but I thought you should see her in action. She was doing something much cuter five seconds before this. Oh well.

Maybe this one's cuter.
(Please ignore the unrelated dialogue about parasites and their disease carrying potential.)

Introducing.... Seven Hills' Weeping Niobe

Here's the sweet little baby!

Isn't she the cutest thing?
Raggedy ears and all.

We're so sorry baby.

Another view of the torture.

Being so cute is really tiring.

And so the story goes...

We've had quite an emotional two days. We encountered some confusion and communication mishaps that had both Ryan and I pretty upset yesterday. We found out that we wouldn't be able to get the dog that we were leaning toward. So we spent the day trying to decide if we would still get one or would wait for the next litter. Of course, I am ready for anything with four paws at this point, but Ryan wasn't so sure he wanted to compromise. Ultimately we came to terms with the fact that we will love any of them the same and will be happy to have a red female to call our very own. So when you're looking at the pictures take note of the girls - with yellow, light and dark green collars. They just had their temperament testing yesterday and all did well. We are in a very lucky situation in that the breeder has lots of people at the house handling the puppies on a regular basis, so they are getting a good early dose of socialization. They are getting their ears cropped on Tuesday, I think, and will be evaluated again (for showing purposes) and the breeder will choose her new breeding/showing bitch and then we can choose and take home our little girl in as little as two weeks.
Yea!

BIG Babies

I forgot the camera for our last visit with the pups, but they were getting around much better than at two weeks. They were up and moving, figuring out the nuances of life. Well, since then, they have grown SO much!

Quite the greeting.

Light green girl is ready for her close up.

Purple boy is trying to steal her limelight.

Clair brought out the rugs for Ryan or me to sit on, but the puppies decided it was clearly meant for them.

Waiting (not so patiently) for lunch.

Lunch on the go. (I never knew how they made the puppies on funny home video shows spin, but they do it quite naturally.)

Oh good. A chewer.

Playing.

Not our baby.

Our baby?

They're all ready for agility training.

A little fun in the yard.

It's Almost Time

Well, the babies have been here for seven weeks now. Just in case anyone forgot, this is what they looked like at two days old.

And here's what they looked like at 15 days.

Introductions are as follows (counterclockwise from top left): Purple boy, light green girl, little blue boy, yellow girl, orange boy, dark green girl and teal boy.

Mom looks hungry too.
